Irish sea moss, commonly referred to as sea moss, is a red algae species that can be found in the ocean, mainly in the Caribbean islands or along the Irish/Atlantic coast. Sea moss is not a novel concept. It has been used as a thickening agent and a source of nutrients in many household meals for thousands of years.
Sometimes known as Chondrus Crispus (Irish sea moss), and Gracilaria (known as Sea Moss) are the two most widely used varieties of sea moss on the market.
